WOW!

12/16/13

Hey Y'all!

So a brief summary of my amazing/razy week and then I will go into more details:
-Maria Stranahan was baptized!!
-Sister Tenny and I got to perform a great musical number in church!
-I got a HUG from President!
-And it's Transfers time!

So... Here is the transfers news:
I'm staying here in Green Hills, but Sister Tenny is being transfered.... AND I'M GOING TO BE TRAINING A NEW MISSIONARY.

I was literally in shock when President called to extend this assignment. I'm still in shock actually. I'm just getting out of training myself. I'm very humbled, and I know that I'm really going to need Heavenly Father's help during this next little while. But I'm excited for all of the things I'm going to get to learn!

The baptism was phenominal. We got there a few hours early, because we wanted the font to be nice and warm (the hot water takes longer to fill up). Well guess what, the baptism was going beautifully, and we get to the actual ceremony, and the water is TOO HOT!

So we blasted the cold water for a few minutes, and it all went smoothly. It was so awesome. She was BEAMING afterwards and the spirit was so strong!

Sister Tenny and I got to perform I Know That My Redeemer Lives in sacrament meeting yesterday, which was so fitting because we weren't going to be together anymore... It was so awesome! We really got a chance to bear out testimonies, and the Elders had an investigator there that day who loved it! It was a great experience for us.

Also, the YSA sisters and my companion and I got to go Christmas caroling this week! It was awesome! We sang in three part harmony, and it was a great finding idea. We decided at the last minute to stop by the mission office on our way home. We drove by and saw that President was by himself in the office, so we snuck in and started singing right outside his door. He came out and listened to out music and was touched. He was so moved he gave each of us a hug!! It was the best thing ever. It was like getting a hug from my dad. It made my whole week!

Also, now that I'm out of "training" I can be a Facebook missionary! I have to make a new profile, but I would love it if any of you want to add me! I can't message anyone from home, but you can definitley post your testimony on my wall and or comment and like my posts, and then my investigators can see it!

There are some awesome things happening here in Tennessee! I'm so excited to get a new companion and to stay here in Green Hills. I love it! I'm so so so blessed. I can't figure out how I am so lucky to be here in the BEST mission!

I'll leave you with a quote that we recite every day here in the Tennessee, Nashville mission.

A Vision of the South:
"Make no small plans, they have no magic to stir men's souls. This is the vision I have for the South. I believe that one day the South will baptize more people into the Church, than all other English speaking missions in the world together. There are great hosts of marvelous Baptists, Methodists, members of the Church of Christ, and Catholics, who are honorable people, and have faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and love him. As they see their church veering off to the right or to the left of those basic teachings, they will begin to search for truth, and as pivitol teachers, come into the church and have influence. We will see the time when we will baptize hundreds of thousands, tens of thousands. In your day you will see a million members of the church in the South. There will be temples plural in the South states. What a great call you have to serve with these marvelous people. The missionaries love the South. We are making great strides and expect to continue."
-President Spencer W. Kimball and Elder Vaughn J. Featherstone

I know this is true! I know that the work is going forward faster and more powerfully than ever before, and I LOVE BEING A MISSIONARY, especially during this time. It's the best.

Have a great week!

Sister Hulme
