Ether 4:12: “And whatsoever thing persuadeth men to do good is of me; for good cometh of none save it be of me. I am the same that leadeth men to all good; he that will not believe my words will not believe me – that I am; and he that will not believe me will not believe the Father who sent me. For behold, I am the Father, I am the light, and the life, and the truth of the world.”
All good and happiness that comes into our lives is a gift from God. We have not earned it. We don’t deserve it.
Sometimes I get caught up in “my life,” “my goals,” and “my plans,” and it’s important to remind myself that He has a plan and a life already in mind for me. I have agency; I can choose the plan that will make me happy or I can make dumb decisions and postpone my progression.
As my freshman year is closing, I think of all the many experiences and blessings I have had this school year. I have realized that I have the capacity to be so much more that I ever thought I could be. I have had to make big decisions, like everyone else, and I’ve realized that sometimes the best road is the hardest one. But that is how we grow, and when I look back, I realize that I have never regretted it when I have chosen the right thing. He “leadeth men to all good” because he is the light, life, and truth in this world. Everything points to Christ.
